Alicia Witt looked triumphant as she delved into her trying cancer battle on Instagram on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old Urban Legend actress shared images of herself celebrating after finishing up a round of ‘chemical therapy’ before she underwent a unilateral mastectomy.
The health scare followed a family tragedy for the actress when both of her parents froze to death in their neglected home in December 2021.
Unbelievable strength: Alicia Witt, 46, revealed her celebrations at finishing a round of chemical therapy two months ago while secretly battling cancer, following her parent’s tragic deaths in December 2021
In her post, Alicia was bundled up with a thick fleece-lined blanket and wore gloves while she donned a large cold cap — a strapped on hat filled with cooling gel that is used by people undergoing chemotherapy to minimize hair loss.
In one image, she beamed while holding up a certification of completion for her treatments, which was dated March 23 and signed by several people.
‘Just a little over 2 months ago, i had my last round of chemical therapy prior to my mastectomy,’ she revealed in her lengthy caption, before adding a shoutout to her doctor Habib Doss, who joined her for the final treatment.
She marked the joyous occasion by hitting a tiny golden gong to signal the completion of her treatment.
‘Although we didn’t yet know for absolute certain until after the mastectomy that the disease was completely healed from my left breast, this marked the end of my carboplatin/taxotere, + herceptin/perjeta,’ she wrote, noting that she would still undergo the latter two immunotherapies through the end of the year as a precaution.

She thanked the ‘tiny crew of human angels’ who helped her throughout her six treatment, and noted that she wore the cold caps partly to keep her privacy during the ordeal.
‘While keeping hair was obviously the last of my concerns on a larger level, i did deeply wish to keep my diagnosis private until it was 100% healed, god willing,’ she explained, adding that she was ‘so grateful’ to those who kept her cancer battle private.
She noted that the cold caps could ‘truly play a huge role in allowing a patient to reveal her journey on her own time, when she is ready.’
Although she seemed mostly upbeat after seemingly beating cancer, Alicia also noted that the treatments came so soon after her parents’ tragic deaths.
‘For me, this was such a needed part of my healing — particularly given the horribly public tragedy that had happened in our family just as i was beginning my treatments,’ she added.

Helping hands: Alicia was joined by friends celebrating her treatment completion
Although her latest post was the first glimpse Alicia provided into her cancer treatments, she announced her health struggle a week earlier on the platform.
In a sweet selfie snapped in her yard — which showed her red hair looking full and healthy — she called that past six months both ‘the absolute strangest i could ever have imagined’ and ‘the biggest of blessings.’
‘friends, i am healing from a unilateral mastectomy,’ she shared. ‘All of the tissue removed (as well as my blood) tested *negative* for any trace of remaining disease. the gratitude overrides any and all else.’
The Twin Peaks actress said she first got a lump in one of her breasts biopsied back in October, after several doctors, including the one conducting the biopsy, told her it was likely nothing serious.
‘november 4, i was heading out the door for my friend cindy’s birthday gathering when i saw my doctor was calling. “oh good”, i thought; “i’m about to have confirmation that all is well.” it wasn’t,’ she continued.
Following the shocking cancer diagnosis, she went through a ‘crash course’ on treatments to explore, and she began six rounds of chemotherapy starting on December 1.
In a follow-up comment, she urged her followers to get yearly mammograms to help detect potential cancer early on.

Alicia’s timeline indicates that she was diagnosed and had begun treatments even before her parents had died.
On December 21, she announced in a Facebook post that her father Robert, 87, and mother Diane, 75, had been found dead in their home in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The screen star said she had asked a family member to check in on them after having not heard from them in several days, but after they weren’t able to get into the house, police performed a wellness check and discovered their bodies.
At the time, there wasn’t evidence of foul play or carbon monoxide poisoning, and the Massachusetts state medical examiner determined in February that the elderly couple had frozen to death. Their date of death was listed as December 20, the day the police discovered their bodies.
Their deaths appear to have come after a brutal cold snap, as December 19 had the coldest night of the month, with temperatures dipping as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
The couple had reportedly not had a working heating system for some time, and a space heater in need of repair was found inside the home.

‘My parents were not penniless,’ she wrote on Facebook. ‘They were fiercely stubborn, beautifully original souls, and with that, they made choices — choices that I couldn’t talk them out of.
‘I did help them, in all the ways I could — in all the ways they would let me.
‘I had no idea that their heat had gone out. I will never understand how or why they made the choice not to tell me this, not to let me help them with this. My heart is broken,’ she wrote.
The actress said she ‘struggled’ to help them, with little success.
‘Short of petitioning the court system for taking control of two otherwise very sharp, very independent, very capable adults. They were a united, intertwined, indivisible force, determined to do things their own way. knowing they had each other — battling them the way I would have had to in order to do this truly felt like it would have destroyed them,’ she continued.
They did not take her help: She also noted that her parents were not ‘penniless’ and she had tried several times to help them out but they would not let her. And she shared that she had not been in their house for 10 years
Alicia explained that she ‘begged, cried, tried to reason with them, tried to convince them to let me help them move — but every time, they became furious with me, telling me I had no right to tell them how to live their lives and that they had it all under control.’
She added that, ‘It was not for a lack of trying on my part, or the part of other people who loved them.’
The Walking Dead actress noted that she had not been allowed into her parents’ house for ‘well over 10 years,’ and she said she had no idea how far into disrepair it had fallen.
Although her parents were believed to have died of hypothermia, they had other preexisting health conditions, as her father was battling cancer and her mother suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
